I found a Mccormick farmall cub that has been garaged since 1987. It has a 1987 WOods mower and was used very little until was parked due to owner illness. They wanting to sell it and are open to offers. It has a magneto, battery, but also has a crank start. ANd a starter I am not familiar with this setup. IT has what appears to be original decals. It also has a Ih emblem mounted on the front of the hood. It has no damage and has a IH emblem mounted on the hood. It also has a spring loaded Seat. The number on serial tag on the engine block is FCLB14989. Any ideas on the year or what it is worth? I did crank it over with the hand crank and heard compression. Thanks, Ray

I would put it and the mower (because it does not run) at 1500. It will be a good buy at that price if it has good tires. If the tires are poor, maybe 1000. If it was locked up it would be 500 less on all counts. Prime the engine oil through a hex plug on the left rear of the engine before trying to start it. Use a pump oil can and squirt until it builds resistance. They will loose prime and spin bearings. The pump is not accessible from the pan, it requires a split to get to it.

Depends greatly on the location. Do a craigslist search for "farmall cub" in the area where it is, and you can pretty quickly establish a ballpark value.

They're very common in most areas, so you should find several to compare to.

In the northeast they're very much in demand so they tend to be pretty expensive for what they are.
