Like CenTex said, I too would have to dock about $10K for not only the flat tire, but all the missing parts, like no battery, light bar but missing the hard to come by 12 volt sealed beam lights, no distributor, no generator, belt pulley drive is there but the pulley itself is gone. Then there are all the "unauthorized" modifications, like extra tabs welded to the drawbar, and the non-stock fuel "filters" that have been added, (they actually look like water separators actually), and what about those six hinges in the hood? Good idea as far as service goes, but means a search for a correct diesel hood for restoration. On the bright side, since it is not a TA, the hood from any MD should fit. Speaking of that, it is a stage one so no live hydraulics either.
Seller also has a 730 high-crop "outhouse", oops, I mean JOHN deere for sale that also is listed as being from Argentina, along with a '49 model "outhouse" M being in Kansas. he is also selling hay out of Georgia as well, so I think this guy is simply a broker. he does have a website at
http://www.thetractorbarn.com/ but it gives scant little additional information.
He has also changed his eBay name once, but it was back in 2006. He used to go by greenacresequipment. He does have 100% on his feedback, no withdrawn feedback, but he also has one neutral mark that says the tractor was already sold without the owner knowing. It is less than 6 months old, so not sure what exactly to make of that. On the other hand, there are plenty of sales to others that praise him for being able to get the deal done and arrange shipping for them.
On the plus side, I am only about 50 miles from Nashville, so if it turns out to be a rip-off, I can pay a "social" visit to the seller for a small fee, of course,
, provided that he actually IS in Nashville, as I just noticed that his area code does not match Nashville's. He listed it as 512, which is Texas, but for Nashville Tennessee it should be 615, even the cell phones.
As for why the tractor is not here yet, it is probably because he doesn't want to pay the shipping here in case someone in a different country buys it. Just saves money and trouble with customs that way, not to mention the bonds that would need to be posted.
That is all the info I could find in 30 minutes or less, so do with it what you will. My personal opinion is the guy is legit, but WAY overpriced on everything!
