300 utility wheels

Does anyone know if there is another tractor wheel which will fit on the rear of a 300 utility? I have a set of 14x24" solid rims on my tractor and someone just gave me a new set of 11.2x24" tires. They are too narrow for those rims and the 11.2' tires are already mounted on rims. My manual says the wheels with center rims only came in 28" size. I was wondering if another tractor company or another IH model had 24" center rims which would have my 8 lug pattern
so I could use these new tires. You guys always helped me before, anyone have any ideas? Thank. Tom

It will look funny and have low ground clearance and be slow if you put 11.2/24s on it. 14.9/24s are much taller as well as wider. The 11.2 width would work if it was 28 instead of 24, I think, but even then it would be narrower than factory, I believe.

The 300U I have has 13.6X28s on it and I could not see it with a set of 11.2X24s on it. To me it would go way way to slow and would sit there and look like it was climbing a hill which could also cause it to flip over back wards a tad bit easier. Or in other words the 11.2X24 are just plain and simple to small for it

The 24" wheels were stock on this tractor from the factory. I did put the 11.2 tires up against the 14.9's on the tractor and they are only 2" shorter so I didn't think it was that big a deal; buts that's why I ask you guys "cause I'm new at this stuff. PS i only use the tractor for brush hogging if that matters. Thanks again, Tom

If the difference is two inches that means there is only one inch difference. Look for combine wheels, cheap and plentiful. One thing to watch for will be the off set, I have had to turn them dish out to clear the fenders.

Almost any International utility tractor with eight lug press steel wheels will fit a 300 utility. I know my 385 rims and weights are the same as on a 300. So thats a 40 year span between them so there should be plenty around.

I think the tractor is too fast anyway. I don't think the difference in speed will be any thing you'll regret.
