H steering pivot shaft dimension

I have the bolster tore apart on my 43 H. While its apart I was going to tighten up the steering a bit. Top bushing on pivot shaft is pretty tight, but the bottom is loose. Before I spend 70 bucks on a new bushing, I want to see how much wear I've got on the shaft. Anyone know what the shaft should mic where it rotates in the bottom bushing? I've got a bit of taper, it's 2.570" top and 2.561" bottom.

Also so far the only place I've found to get a new bushing is from Case/IH (that's the 70 bucks). Any other outlets you know of?

Thanks, Ron

If that is a carefully taken measurement with micrometer, not caliper, I would have the shaft turned to 2.560" then polished. Having a bushing made to an ID of 2.562 and an OD to light press fit into the casting (.001" interference) would be best. .009 taper is not going to be successful. Jim
