That depends mostly on it's condition. The electric start adds to it's value, so would good tires, roundspoke wheels, widefront, overdrive.

I bought one with a stuck engine and no tires for $200. I saw a restored and painted one sell for around $1800 I think it was.

This one looks pretty decent and has cut off with a small pair of 38's on it and the sheet metal looks real good. It says F 14 on the hood but it has a down draft carb. It will turn over and the guy is asking $1000 but will deal.

IF...I repeat...IF... it's a factory electric start. If it's a blacksmith modification it still helps with the value but not nearly as much.

Its not a messed up looking thing! It apears to be all Factory. I need to go back and take a few pictures.

Sorry that this is not actually in direct relation to your question. For my information. Was the electric start on the F12/14 factory fit or after market. If after market how is it fitted. Any info on this would be most welcome.
Thanks Mike

$1000 is not outrageous, but a bit high. Start around $700 and meet in the middle if you can. with the electric start, the $1000 is ok.....just not great.

IHC offered electric start on them, only F series to do so. 20's and 30's were all aftermarket

I have 39 F 14 crank, I would like to add a starter I'm to old to crank.( the tractor) Are starters still around ????

The actual starter is the least of your problems. New rebuilts are easily available.

The hard stuff is the bellhousing with a starter mount and a flywheel rigged for a ring gear. You can machine an existing flywheel and shrink a ring gear onto it, but the bellhousing takes some fairly serious skills.

Good Job!!But you did make sure that the tractor was in neutral!Always do that!Be safe!We dont want you or anyone to be run over.......Again,good job!

Hey Mark. This is Steve F. What kind of shape are the tires in? If it has decent rubber I don't think you can get hurt on a straight F14 for $1000. Is it fairly close by? Tires are a real killer on these old tractors anymore. I have a really nice 39 M that needs tires. The tires will cost almost what I paid for the tractor. Oh well. What are you going to do? It is a fairly low serial number so I am going to fix it up right.

Electric startihg and lights are both are factory stock items and they are in the parts books. Ihave been led to beleive that theese items were mostly instaled by the dealers with factory parts.I am presently restoring an F-12 with electric start. I also have a F-20 electric start and those F-20 tractors were all fitted by the dealer. No F-20w/starters were shipped from the factory, there is a new book out about F series tractors and Idon't have it handy but I bought mine on ebay F-20. You should get one if you need the name email me back and I will get you the correct name & author DICK
