Where would I find the casting number on a WD9 block? I have not been able to find it.

I lied, it is right behind the injection pump. I will post a picture, maybe you can see it.

You can't really see the number, but you can see the location in this picture. It is a few inches below the middle bolt for the front water jacket cover.

If you are looking for the engine S/N it is in that area, too. It is above the water jacket cover on that machined flat area. I would say it is right inline with the #1 cyl.

Are these raised numbers and is it behind the injection pump?

Yes they are raised. Not sure about the injection pump. All my 9 motors are without them right now. Probably just above it. They are right below that bolt and about at the bottom of that stain. If you knew what you were looking for you could see them in the picture.

Turns out I have a better picture.

Don't forget EVERYTHING is off of this motor except the throttle/switch mechanism.
