340 weight bracket

Does anyone have a picture of a front weight bracket for a 340 row crop or what kind of front weights were used?

Email sent - There is no front weight bracket for the 340 model tractors produced by IHC just front frame mounted weights which are very difficult to find, Hal.

Like Hal said, there is no front weight bracket per se. There IS a weight that bolts across the front of the tractor. It`s the same slab weight that`s used on the front of the Farmall 460 & 560. On the Farmall 340, the slab weight bolts into the front of the frame weights that get bolted onto each side of the front bolster - same place front cultivators mount. You have to have the side weights to use the slab weight. The same side weights also fit the Farmall 240 and 404. They can be found, but they`re not the cheapest. I have this set up on my 340, but no closeup pic. Go on tractor photo`s and search Farmall 340 and mine is on there, but hard to see.

Enjoy

It's not "correct" but the suitcase weight bracket from an '06 or newer tractor should bolt on the front of a 340.

We had an '56 series weight bracket on the front of the 560, and AFAIK they both use the same "slab" weights on the front as the 340.

That is correct, a weight bracket from a `06 & later will bolt on to the front of the 340, but it has to have the frame weights on - that`s where the weight bracket will bolt into. There is no way to just put a weight bracket on without the frame weights.
