Farmall 560

I am looking to replace my rubber boot on my gear shifter, it is missing and I cannot find any available. What or where do yall use to replace this with?

A CV joint boot might work.

You're aware that there is no rubber boot on the shifter "stock" right?

Frankly, I use a pole barn. Even so, I'm not sure how much water gets in down the shifting lever really...

I don't remeber 560's having a boot on gear shift. The neighbor down the road bought 2 560D when came out new. I could be wrong.

The rubber boot was an add that never came with the tractor new. We used to sell them and install but I don't remember if they were from IH or some after market. I think they were from IH. They aren't really necessary if it has the later style shield on the shift lever with the o-ring 375355R1. Originally all those tractors, H & M or whatever used to breath through the shift lever. With all the hydraulic fluids getting contaminated with water, IH changed the shield and added a o-ring bevel , drilled a small hole in the housing below where the shield would cover it from water coming in. The boot was just a quick easy fix for those tractors without the o-ring.
