They can be made to work. They are very similar in most ways, but the flange mount is different in spacing. Thus to allow it to fit the manifold must be modified to a wider spacing. Not much, it is about one fole spacing split between the two holes. The added carburation will do little good, and some performance issues unless the engine has mods to make use of the added volume. A increase in RPM to 2100 or so, a big bore kit, and a cam, with a good valve job will be operational. Jim

(quoted from post at 20:02:35 03/06/12) Will the carburetosr from a super m and a regular h interchange? Thanks for your input in advance.

You can put the Super M carburetor on the H IF you also replace the manifold with either a Super H, 300, or 350 manifold, OR use an aftermarket replacement manifold for an H.

I suppose the H carburetor COULD be put on the Super M, but you would need to make quite a few modifications, and even if you did, that Super M would be WAY down on power, IF it even ran at all.

Not worth the effort, you will lose to much low end especially. If you want a bigger carb and have engine work look for a Super H/300/350 carb. They look the same but have different 'guts' if you will.

A few questions:

1. Are you putting a Super M carburetor on an H?
2. Are you putting an H carburetor on a Super M?
3. What are you trying to achieve?

You can MAKE the carburetors fit from one to the other, but neither tractor will run very well with the wrong carburetor.

If you are "testing" to see if the carburetor is causing a problem with your tractor, you need another carburetor from the same tractor.

If you are putting the bigger carburetor on for "more power" don't waste your time.

For all practical purposes, no. You will be putting a carb for a 40 hp tractor on a 25 hp tractor or vice versa.
