got a double disc athens plow. it has, on the left side, a pin for a lift arm????? and is located a few inches above the pin for the lift arm. it is connected to the trailer wheel. ???? seems to maybe steer the trailer wheel., how? can you fasten this so it will plow straight?

model # 22 Athens double disc breaking plow. also has , after the 22 space 468 ???
 
I'm not familiar with that plow, but the IH plows had a rod from the front tractor wheels to the rear wheel on the plow. I'm assuming that this is a semi-mount plow, if so I did not know that aftermarket semi mounted plows existed -- you might post a picture.
 
what is meant by semi-mount? plow is 3 point hitch; but does not have the big bull wheel that i know i h used on C, H etc.; it is a small wheel about the size of a plate.
 
A semi-mounted plow uses the two lift arms of the 3pt, and a tail wheel lift for the rear end. As opposed to a fully mounted plow which hangs completely off the 3pt hitch.
 
Semi mount that I am talking about means that the frame and discs lift off the ground, but the tail wheel supports the rear of the plow, it does not leave the ground. As opposed to the whole plow lifting off the ground.
 
Disregard the part of my statement regarding the aftermarket. I wasn't aware it is a 3 point.
 
Sounds like a plow that I have, will look at the tag next time I"m at that place. Anyway the tail wheel can be adjusted to lift off ground by the chain but has to bite into soil when plowing so it can steer plow. The linkage you refered to must fasten to tractor. I have used an adjustable stablizer bar to go from the tractor stablizer bracket to the crank linkage on plow. This was on a Ford 2610. Have never seen a orginal bar and just tried to figure out the best I could. Plowed great in soft soil but in hard ground terrible. Which is not the way it should work. Just would not steer right. Quit using. Hope you figure it out and then tell me.
