Picture did not post!!!

I removed the cover from my belly pump compartment today and looking up at it, the picture shows you what I see. How do I know if it is engaged? I can identify the drive shaft, but what are the things I have circled in red?

Jim - Your tractor's belly pump driveshaft is missing!

The circled items are the coupling halves that fit the drive shaft.

Well, I don't ever plan to use the belly pump so I should be good to go? Can I just leave the reservoir empty? Sorry for the stupid questions.

It would be prudent to put a quart of oil in it every year (or only once if it doesn't leak) to keep it from rusting into powder. Or you could remove it and put a cover plate on the opening. Jim

The seal was probably leaking, so someone pulled the driveshaft. It is fine leaving it that way.
