Ok, I am trying to restore a 1939 Farmall H. this was my grandfathers tractor and it is very poor shape, has not run in probably 40 years, I bought a new sediment bowl for it, but I cant get the old one out? any sujections? I can repair things, but I'm pretty new to restoration of something this old.

The sediment bowl assembly unscrews from the bottom of the tank,
unless you are talking about removing the glass part from the
metal part, in which case you just have to undo the bracket that
holds it in place and the glass bowl should slide straight down,
possibly with the help of some wiggling and tugging.

Thanks, I am removeing the entire assembly as it pretty much disintetagrated. but i can not get the assembly loose from the bottom of the tank,

That is one of those things that can be very difficult to remove. You can't put too much pressure on it trying to unscrew it or you could twist it off. Applying too much heat will melt the solder.... Here is what I would do, apply a little heat to it below where it screws into the fuel tank and then spray some penetrating oil on the threads, the heat will help draw the oil into the threads. Put your wrench on it and see if it will move, if you can get it to move a little then just carefully work it back and forth applying, oil all the while, until it unscrews. If you twist it off then just drill out the broken piece until you are close to the threads and then just peal what is left away from the threads.

Someone may have glued it in there with Form-a-
gasket or some other hard setting compound. You can
A) put some dry ice in the tank (to displace the
oxygen) and heat it with a torch or B) saw it off
flush with the tank and drill it out.
