does anybody know if you had the option of ordering the 300 with no ta? the housing looks like other tractors i have seen with the ta but mine has no shaft or linkage or no lever. how can i tell? or did i find something rare?

I believe the T/A was a "delete option" for the 300.

One of my cousins has a 300U without a T/A. If memory serves a P suffix in the serial number indicates the T/A delete.

Suffix letter P = INDEPENDENT POWER TAKE-OFF DRIVE ATTACHMENT (For use with tractors without Torque Amplifier Attachment)

Suffix letter J = ROCKFORD CLUTCH
