Super C Hyd pump seal

Does anyone know the # for the o-ring in the hyd pump that seals the shaft? Mine is leaking hyd oil in the engine. Pump shaft shows only .002 wear so I am going to put in a new o-ring. Local dealer can"t seem to find it.

Find a different parts counter person. I went through several dealerships before I found one that wanted to mess with me and my antiques.

My IH dealer parts lady found it right away and had it to me the next day. Her name is Dallas and the CIH dealer ship is in Richmond TX. Their # is 281-342-5527.

IH had several different pumps on the SC. You'll need the part # off of your pump.

Napa should have that seal and Case/IH. If that shaft has a worn groove install a speedi-sleeve to cover the worn surface. Hal

Dean is correct, I ran into the same issue, and there is more than one pump on those. I finally found a dealer that walked up to a drawer and pulled out the correct o-ring. Nothing at the automotive parts stores were even close to matching the one in my old pump. I am hoping that since the first one lasted nearly 60 years I won't have to go back into mine again. Local dealer made it obvious he did not want to put any effort forth to try to find one, and quickly turned to trying to sell me a pump for over $600. But it took me probably 6 hours or more driving from dealer to dealer to finally find a parts guy who knew what he was doing. The guy that found it was looking at microfich before finally arriving at the correct ring.

NAPA probably has one. If you want to be absolutely sure that it is the right one, give the dealer the part number. No parts book, look on their web site, get the number off your pump first, you have to take it off anyway. Most dealers can get parts overnight, depending on where the distribution center is. No dealer, get it from Carter and Grunewald. I have never had a problem with my dealer because I always use a parts book-I give them the number and in a couple of minutes they tell me whether or not they have it or whether they can get it. Been doing this for 10 years, received one wrong part in that time.

You are probably way out of this area, but when I needed that O-ring, I took the pump halves with me to Southern Grove Hydraulics in Sebring FL. He looked at it , went in a back room, came out with 2-3 ,found the one that would work. Total cost, a couple bucks. So, I would guess any good hydraulic shop would have one.
