we got a 5220 case ih with second gear out of the powershift how much you think im looking at to get it pulled out and rebuilt any ideals

I don't know what is wrong with yours but our CIH 7130 cost us 5800.00 for a transmission repair job from a CIH dealer. Labor was more than the parts.

Before you tear apart your transmission, check the switches on the side that shift the transmission. We had one that only had 4th gear and the problem was with the switches.

The parts are not to bad if you dont do it yourself the labor will be at least $4000

Where are you located? I know a good independant shop in PA that can do it cheaper than any dealer.

I had a 5230 back in the day. First thing to check are the electronics. Mine was always having electronic "glitches". The pressure sensors and solenoids on the side of the transmission. I had a oring fail on the mainshaft that allowed two clutch packs to engage at once. Smoked one clutch pack and filled the trans with burnt paper. Cost $1700 for the dealer to rebuild it. If you can do it yourself the parts wouldn"t be to costly. Overall it was a decent tractor but the electronics were annoying. I replaced it with green paint and have never regretted it.

If you get it pulled out I can rebuild the input shafts and sleeve the cast housings with new cast iron seal rings. I also have new discs and separator plates. $575 per shaft and I would need to figure out how much for the housings depending on trans. Serial numbers.
