My SMD has always started kind of hard since I got it. It may take 10 to 20 seconds of cranking to get it going. So I ordered new plugs, points, cap and plug wires. So I was putting everything together by the book and see that it appears my distributor is rotated 90 degrees from what the book says. The button can only go on one way because of the flat on the shaft. And when the motor is at TDC, the button is at the #1 wire(with the cap being 90 off). How about the other end of the shaft, could that be off 90 degrees? It must be timed somewhat correct as it runs ok once it gets going.
Thanks,
Dan
