Painting a Farmall H in two weeks

Some thoughts on a quick paint on a working tractor:
1. Have at least 10 kids or grand kids-- that way there might be one or two that will commit to help you!
2. Lower your expectations but try to do good work-- a 6 footer. Work with safety in mind!
3. Buy a media blaster. We didn"t, and getting the old paint removed is bloody hard work.
4. Taking off ancient parts like battery box mounts and wheel clamps will take a LOT of time.
5. Hopefully, you can work indoors-- we are not able to. we caught a break in the spring weather and "got "er done".
6. Lay in a high quality beverage reward for when you finish.
7. When a highly restored and beautifully done tractor is seen, compliment its owner, big time!

Paint is Rustoleum Sunrise Red-- in quarts and rattle cans for the tight spots. Wheels are Rustoleum Matte Nickel. LOTS of sandpaper-- total cost less than $100. to do the tractor.

Looks great.

And all good advice. Especially number 7!

#3 is very good too - I just bought a harbor freight sandblaster for our project and don't know how I've gotten this far in life without one. Best $130 I've ever spent. Got to be careful with where all the sand goes, but would never try doing a tractor without one.
