I am a JD guy and a bit out of my realm here. I found an International 284 with an Allied loader. Front tires are shot, rears are holding air but weather checked. All sheet metal is dent free, surface rust only with no major issues. The engine is free as is the shifter. The loader does not have any welds on it. I believe it has been sitting unused for about 7 years. Can anyone help me with a value? Right now I am at $350 for scrap value.

Loader is probably worth more than the entire tractor if gas 2wd, from what I've read many parts aren't available for the gasser version.

Small tractor for a loader... Would not be worth more than scrap... To me. For mowing the yard and using the loader to carry limbs it may be ok as a chore tractor. FIL has a TC30, 4wd, diesel, NH with a loader. It is good for small work and easy on fuel. Without 4wd, it would be useless.

NH TC30 = 25.5 hp PTO.
IH 284 = 27.4 hp PTO.

Apples and Apples.......

I've been watching for a hydraulic loader for my gas 284 for a couple years. The used loader alone usually brings $1,000. If you look up gas 284s on external_link, the asking price for a bare gas 284 is around $3,500. It sounds like the one you're considering is worth less than that, but salvage 284s are highly sought after for parts, often bringing well over $1k for a whole parts tractor.
