Wet/Dry Sleeve??

Okay, I must ask, what's a wet sleeve and what's a dry sleeve?

A wet sleeve has water on the outside, a dry sleeve has the cast iron block on the outside. It really just becomes a replaceable liner.

Dry sleeves are usually a dry press fit and wet sleeves can be installed by hand. You need to clean that block area where your old sleeve seals are or were installed. Use a wire brush on a drill motor. Use a good lite in that area
to make sure there's no crud in that block area to restrict coolant flow. Hal
PS: I used a piece of 2 x 2 oak and a big hammer to remove the sleeves from a Farmall A in 1975.
