CARB NEEDLE AND SEAT

The carb on ny IH460 has a problem with sticking closed. With the top off if you let the float drop, the needle stays on the seat. This is a new needle and seat.(viton tip). any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks doorman

i have experienced that also. i just spray them with wd40 and wipe the tip with a cloth. maybe a better idea out there but thats what i do.
and also check the flat edges on the needle where it slides in the seat to make sure there smooth. could give them a little rub with some fine emery.

Yes, I had one do that once, About drove me nuts. I finally decided it was too "new" so I rubbed some dust on it. Went to working fine.

Aerosol carb cleaner on BOTH the needle and the seat BEFORE you install them, and if you really want to make sure it doesn't stick, give both pieces a shot of silicon lubricant. Every carb I rebuild gets that treatment.

You can use some Brasso on a Q-tip inside the seat to polish things good to prevent sticking also.
