Colby560 going to 1st public event tomorrow, tractor pull!

OK guys....

After I had to pass on the BIG NE record breaking parade, thought I would still take 560 out on 1st public appearance.

Have no real plans for this machine to be a "puller" but for this I will.

Tomorrow is a tractor pull at Bureau County Fair in Princeton IL, back in 1997 my dad WON the 18K farm stock class on his 4430. I remember it, I was 6 yrs old. Best part is one of my good friends now is on the fair board and he takes care of the pull. Last Fri night at our baby shower he said I must come to his tractor pull.

So it's ready to go, drawbar on, and we are ready to go. Big time 1st gear pull :) lower air to 4 lbs and hang on!

I would come if I didn't have to cook a pig. We could go to the PI for a couple cold ones afterwards. :lol: Princeton isn't TOO far from here. I can do it in just over 2 hours.

Good luck. How many gears do 560s have? If more than 5 you might want to go up a gear.
 
got 5 gears... think the rules are for 1st gear only though.

it weighted 7100 with me on it, did not have 2pt in or drawbar, with very very little fuel.

they have 6K and 8k classes, so we wont kick butt that's for sure. expedition run in 6K class too, so Ill pull twice :)
 
agree ,1 st gear would be best choice as in 2 nd gear usually power out. or you could go in 2nd with ta pulled. most places you cant shift on the fly with ta but using them at the start is ok. whoever come up with that rule... the john deere guy's! kind of a shame cause thats what the ta is for ... to keep going when you power out. plus lots depends on the track. good luck.
 
If you have five gears I would bet good money that you couldn't tug second.

Usually fair pulls are a no rules kind of pull around here. A true antique club would stock tractors and first gear only.

Yes, this one is 1st gear only.
