Belt pully gearbox. Is it a simple drop in?

Well like I said before, I'm as green as they come, so I have questions, lots of questions. How complicated or uncomplicated is it to install a belt pully gearbox into my '49M? I see them on ebay all the time, some seem very reasonable.
I love to do woodworking, so I have this fantasy of maybe some day running some kind of sawmill with my M.

TIA Patrick

Yes, it is simple. Set it in place and tighten the bolts, that is all there is to it. I should note that there are 2 bolts that are very long and can not be installed once the gearbox is set in place under the gas tank. The simple way to do it is to slide the long bolts into their holes in the gearbox before setting it under the gas tank.

The mesh of the drive with the trans gear can be set with gasket thickness, but unless it has none, and the gears bind, no one (that I know of) measures it. I would put a stout rubber band on each bolt to hold it up out of the center two holes so they do not snag on the parts while sliding it into place. Then remove to tighten. Jim
