Rear axel bearing on a 450

Does the axle have to come out to replace it. Who has the best prices on quality bearings for the inner and outer bearings?

The bearings are available at many locations. cross reference the numbers (shop). The axle must be removed, but the top can be left on the trans. Access through the PTO housing (IIRC) though a little tough, is easier. Prop up the bull gears with wedges to prevent them from falling when the axle is removed. I think the axle housing must be removed to access the inner bearing. Jim
