How to disassembly H pulley drive?

So I got the pulley drive off my '52 H today in order to take it apart and see what seal I need to replace to end a leak. I'm pretty sure about my next step, but I thought I would run it by you guys first. I can see the retaining ring holding in the bearings (see picture below). I assume I remove that and then remove the bearing somehow to get to the seal. [b:c5e499f3a8]Anyone have some experience you could share?[/b:c5e499f3a8]

You need to remove the gear so you can then remove both bearings and the end piece that contains the seal, only then can you remove and replace the seal.

Nebraska Kirk, Good point. I started to realize that as I was looking at the parts catalog. Do you know if the bearing has much press in the end by the pulley? Any tricks to getting that apart?

Thanks!

The trick is to use a press. First press off the gear and the bearing right behind it, then you can slide off the spacer, and finally press off the last bearing.

I had to do that on the 1951 H back in 1999. If I recall correctly I simply stuck the gear and bearing above the vice jaws then tapped out the shaft.
