I would pull that crankshaft and have it measured for wear. The main bearings may be too tight. You could loosen the main bearing caps to see if that helps. Buy your new bearings from the auto machine shop that measure's your crankshaft. The crankshaft may need a polishing. They won't grind it undersize unless it needs it. Hal
 
shag,el this eng. stuck,pulled head dropped oil pan got it unstuck.spun it over with battery starter 5 sec.took 2and3 pistons out,could not spin crank at pulley or with starter to get 1and4 piston down to remove.got crank to spin enough to remove 1,4 pistons,replacing all rings.crank is still in bind.
 
definitly not normal, still tight after two rods out? something wrong. i would be looking from flywheel back for a problem. who know's what else is stuck in there . what is this on?
 
Check for a mouse nest around the flywheel or remove the main bearing caps. Maybe a bearing is starting to spin in the block.
 
Pull the engine and remove the bearing caps and then you will know why its stuck. You cannot remove crank until the engine is removed. If it was stuck you needed to remove the crank anyway.Pull the engine and tear it down.
 
I think you need to pull the engine. You probably need to do a complete rebuild with a new sleeve kit. How long has it been stuck? You need to pull the crankshaft once you have the engine off. Have the crankshaft measured. Hal
 
Who knows why the tractor was parked? It could very well be that it was parked because it spun a main bearing.
