Super M plugs

Woo, I've been gone a long time, theres a lot more activity on this board than I remember.

Anyway, whats the current wisdom on plugs for a Super M?

If I remember correctly it has Champion D23s in it which are probably 30 years old. I'd bought some NGK (A7?) to put in but the base is too big and they wouldn't fit. I've not been happy with Champion plugs in recent years which is why I bought the NGKs.
This tractor gets run probably 10-15 hours over 3-4 days each year mostly running a 6' bush hog in heavy to extremely heavy conditions. I ran it two weeks ago cutting brush and small trees. The brush was 5' tall and the trees (mostly poplar (quaking aspen) and balm of guiliad (bam-a-gillyard in Maine) which is apparently balsam poplar) really made the governor open up.

The number if I remember right should be a Champ D-21. Now days with this crap gas and the alcohol in it the Auto lite plugs in that heat range seem to be a lot better

I used D23s in my SMTA previously and they are a great plug if you have any fouling troubles. They have a longer base than others but are higher priced and harder to find. They worked great in the older JDs also

AC386 I believe is what I stuck in Raceway M in 2002. They are much better than the Champions IMHO.

I have A7s in my M. Supers must be different. 1" thinwall fits, are they bigger than 1" now?

I should have tried them again when I was on the farm two weeks ago. I bought them 3 or 4 years ago and couldn"t get them to fit. They could have been 3 or 4 years old then.

I wouldn"t be surprised if a Super M had a different head than an M...

The same spark plug that will screw into a Farmall M will also screw into a Super M, and it will also screw into a Farmall A, B, Super A, C, Super C, H, Super H, 100, 200, 300, 400, 350, 450, 560, 706, etc, etc, etc. That same spark plug will also physically fit, but may or may not be correct for John Deeres, Allis-Chalmers, and on and on and on.

The F20s, F12s, F14s, did use a spark plug with a larger base, and those spark plugs will not interchange with any of the aforementioned tractors.
