Love those 966's.

I have mine in the shop even as I write. Took the cab off probably 15 yrs ago. Bought new fenders and assorted parts (about a grand worth!) a few days ago and am in the process of a complete repaint. Tractor only has 4070 original hours on it. Dad bought it new in the 70's, and then retired from farming in the early 80's. It only gets about 30 hours a year on it mowing set aside.
I'll have some pics hopefully next week.

That's exactly right about them being quieter without the cab! This tractor has about 5200 hours on it. Never used it much since the a/c wouldn't hold a charge. I think that may change now! I know it's not correct or even necessary but I'd like to put the turbo on it someday. I like the whistle and the look of the straight pipe on these 66s! It's only going to rake some hay or maybe work some irrigation lanes and mow so it won't be working too hard!

Larry 806, I have a cherry 1973 model 1066 (2400hrs) that has a white cab. What's the difference between the red & white cab other than the paint. I was thinking of taking the cab off as I have a pair of fenders. Cab is nice but needs new interior as time has got to it. I would sell it with the air if someone would want it. Previous owner bought new was shedded all of it's life. I live 20 miles north of st.louis, just across mississippi river from alton,il. cell 314-313-9948 Wildman
