Probably a weird question but I have a 1955 300 RC. I also have a 1955 300 RC parts tractor. My question is; can I put the rear 12x38's from the parts tractor on my runnin tractor which has 12x38's also as duals? I was looking at it and if I go dish in on the inners and dish out out the outers, it looks like it might work. Now I really don"t know why I would want to do this but I"m curious.

dishing the wheels like you say should work I have seen pictures of it in C H Wendels 150 years of IH book. I also know another option that will work on an M, is the wheels dished in on inside and an set of cutoff steel on the outside because grandpa did that on his m

One benefit if you still use the tractor for working crops is less soil compaction. The weight is spread over a bigger footprint so it doesn't sink in as deep.

Really? I find that duals make the tractor helpless in snow unless you add a corresponding amount of weight.

For snow you want more pounds per square inch for traction. The harder you can press on the snow the more grip you're going to have.
