I have a 1566 that the t/a slips on low side. Any idea how much a t/a job and mcv rebuild would cost? I know it would be alot at the local dealership im located in Northern Illinois, is there any privately owned shops near here that would do a good job cheaper than the dealership? Also what t/a should i put in, i heard Hy Capacity is pretty good. Or should i just get one from CaseIH? I use this tractor to pull my chisel plow so it does some pretty heavy duty work.

I put a Hy Capacity TA in my open station 766 this past summer. It weorked fine around the yard but slipped at the local tractor pulls. The TA cost me about 1200. and a local tractor mechanic charged me 250. to install it.I could have picked up a A&I cheaper but he told me to get the HC one. Works great Hope this helps. Kent

Labor is going to depend on who does it. I would have to charge you about 500 bucks if I did the work. TA will cost about 800 plus any quill gear, bearing etc outside of TA , clutch, pto input shaft. Just a guess. Forgot, depends a lot on what or if you have a cab on it and any other parts like loaders to remove. Then of course you always make the lights etc work properly, change fluid and filters. Hydraulic mcv rebuild parts. It just goes on and on.
