300 TO bearing carrier

While assembling Dad's tractor I noticed his throw out bearing carrier has a grease zerk. I installed it back the way it came off, facing down to accept grease from the inspection hole. I didn't remember this on mine and removed the inspection cover to find no grease zerk. Did 300's not all have a greasable bearing? Mine has some casting numbers on it while Dad's does not. If I was thinking I would have wrote it down but didn't. The casting had an H4 on it if I remember. Looking at it I think I should be able to spin the carrier over without splitting the tractor, right? Just remove the clutch shaft the holds it in place and turn it. Thanks!

Pretty sure they all came with a greaseable bearing. Did you feel for a grease zerk on the top of your bearing carrier? Just remove the clutch shaft and fork and you can easily rotate the carrier 180 degrees and reinstall the fork and shaft.

Think the one with the grease fitting was changed sometime. F-300 started out with no grease fittings and after IH had some complaints about the sleeve getting dry and causing operating problems the grease type was added. Also put grease to the bearing. IH made the change on farmall 350 seven hundred and something. Don't remember the exact number.
