IH DT466 engine

Have a friend with a DT466 engine in an IH truck.
Has been setting & not ran for some time.
Did not start it up. Was going to change engine oil. When he removed the pan plug clean oil came out, no coolant. Unlike a farm tractor the oil filters are of the left side by the frame & hang down. The filters were full of coolant. I am not familar with the truck application. Any one have any ideas?
Thank you for any thoughts'

Are you SURE you pulled the oil filters?

The block is for all intents and purposes identical to the tractor block, and the oil filters are on the RIGHT side of the engine.

I'm looking at pictures of DT466 truck engines online right now and the ones I'm seeing all have the oil filter on the RIGHT side of the engine.

These engines often have coolant filters to prevent cavitation in the sleeves. Maybe you pulled the coolant filter?

Highly unlikely that you would have that bad of a leak to fill both filters. They probably are coolant filters.

Two oil filters on the right side and two fuel filters on the left side. They all look the same when you are under the engine looking up at them. I remember the first time my dad changed the oil in his IH truck with a 466, he poked a hole in the bottom of the filters to drain them, yup, you guessed it, wrong side.

IH only put 1 coolant filter on these engines. This is on the RH side (same side as the oil filters)near the front of the engine.

Did someone poke open the fuel filters and find bad fuel and are confused???
