C-251 corn planter

Looking for a IH C-251 corn planter with 2pt fast hitch with fertilizer to use on my Super C. Can anyone help me with this.

Lots of luck and they are pricey. Just make sure when you do find one its all there and have plates for it.

I ended up buying 3 out of Kentucky and Pennsylvania. IIFFF your going to find one it's going to be in the eastern states. I ended up buying 3 to find enough functional parts to make 1 complete with fertilizer and one that doesn't. That one is for sale. The 3rd is on a pallet of parts.

If you think your going to find one complete, good luck, and get your check book out. That was my original expectation. I couldn't find one. My work includes traveling the country in a tractor trailer so I have lots of miles and lots of looking.

After all the looking and talking to the guys who worked them I've come to the opinion that not a lot were made. Remember farms where growing and planters where getting bigger. The small guy couldn't afford new so a lot of the old horse drawn planters got converted. The big guys were buying 4 row planters.

Back to being complete, I found NO split row fertilizer bottoms usable. I found a set of single row boots. I ended up finding some disc openers that work well. If the planter/fertilizer was not cleaned up after use the fertilizer system rotted everything down junk. Found several of those.

Fertilizer attachments, row markers, rubber wheel inserts where all options and makes those components that much harder to find.

I've got a C-251 that I will part with..have all the plates, etc..probably will need a new fert. tub, but everything is there..haven't used it in 3 or so years...(deer eat everything before anything gets finished..). It's a 1pt but as you know they can be converted. If anyone is interested let me know with a msg. I'll try and put in a pic or 2. Bob in VA

A double stranded electric fence will work wonders on the deer. Yes they could jump but they will not. They try to sneak through and once they get a good shock they will not try again that season. . . even if the fence is off.

I,ve got one with a two point hitch, it's in the back of the shed and I probably haven,t seen it in 15 years. Its complete with fair fertilizer hoppers, plates and row markers.
