Is this the correct gas tank for the F-20?

The tank is setting in place, but the straps are not tightened down. As you can see( if the photo is loaded) that the steering shaft is too close to the gas cap. Is this the correct tank or did I get the wrong tank with the tractor? Or is the steering shaft in the wrong opening on the pedestal?
Thank you

Unfortunately your pic didn't load. Without the pic it is a bit of a guess, so forgive me if I out in the weeds but I will give this thing a whirl anyway.
One possibility could be the steering support tube which is clamped in your seat support may have slid down. This happened to me once or twice and resulted in little if any clearance to the top of the tank and gas filler cap. There is a swaged feature on the tube which should keep that from happening but those can wear.

Sorry about the missing photo. It was there when I previewed he message. I will look at the steering pedestal. I did not realize that they had any adjustment.
thank you
Steve

You have a F-12/F-14 fuel tank not a F-20 tank. On a F-20 fuel tank, the filler opening is further from the center of the tank.

I had the same issue about 2 months ago!

Compare it to the gas tank on another F-20. You will see the difference.

I do not believe there is enough adjustment in the steering column, especially if you use the taller safety gas cap.

Where are you located? I have several F-20 tanks in central Illinois.

Thank you. I wish that is what I wanted to hear. I guess I will need a shopping list for the Pioneer swap meet on 4/27.
