oil canister on Farmall 400

Overhauled my 400 everything went fine started it up today fired right up after getting the timing right. Had it running for 15 to 20 seconds then it started to push oil out of the top of the oil canister. We had to buy a new bolt because the old one was bent. Could it be that the hole on the side of the bolt is too small as it is maybe the size of a safety pin.The one on the bottom is close to 1/8th inch. Threw the old one away so can't compare. Is there a conversion kit to convert it over to a spin on filter. Need some idea's.

Copper washer is used under the bolt and on top of the canister. (a spark plug gasket will Do IIRC) Jim

we do have a copper washer under the bolt but I believe it is the wrong one. Think this one is to thin.

The new bolt will have flat surface around the under side of the hex that should match the flat surface at the hole on top of the can. If these 2 are used parts what usually transpires is 1 or both mating surfaces gets rounded from over tightening, a lot times the sealing rubber at bottom leaks & not replaced often gets hard, same at top with the soft brass ring. The guy changes oil, whoops slight leak, tightens this time & gets by, now over 60 years time you can see what could be the problem.
