706 farmall lp progress

Thought i'd share some pics of my 706 ,thanks everyone for advice last summer and throughout, sure glad I seized the moment. Its a powerhouse, love the 6 cylinder, and propane is cheap for no more than I use it .You can' t imagine the looks it.gets N.Ky.WOW!One pic is from when i went to look at and the other from last Feb. when I was shoving snow from the lot at the shop.I added the fenders and lights, fixed the 3 point lift, buffed it,touched it up with some spray paint, fixed the flats, fixed the heat gauge, but still have a lot to do.It pulled my 3-14 plows good, needs rear tires and weights.Currently the sheet metal is off due to plugged rad. but i think i cured it with CLR

It should handle a 4-14 or at least a 3-16 plow in any soil. Dad's old '53 SM LPG would play with a 3-16 pull type plow in heavy soil, so a 706 should not have a problem. (My $.02 worth. jal-SD)

FYI the 2 brackets on the front frame rails and the 1 on the front where the weight bracket goes are all for a front mounted IH cultivator. i have no idea how many are out there but someone may want them someday, even if you don't.

Mazemeister,so you said the brackets were for cultivaters ,there are one on each side of the frame rails, one with a small spike on the front,a gear on the right axle, one on each side of the rear(2 bolts in bracket with a large hole between the bolts), and a great big sheild or sway block all the way around the pto that hangs way down. Were these for IH 's 468 cultivaters? Are these common? Should I keep them for my 504 nf with hopes of finding the cultivating rig?Or.....trade them for a weight bracket or some weights or both??? What would they be worth? Not to many farmalls these bodies around here to study.

i know the 2 on the frame rails and the 1 on the front are for the cultivator. did a google search for 468 and that looks like what we have, so i'd say yes. gear on the axle, my best guess would be side dresser drive, but i've never seen one on that cultivator. as for the 2 on the rear and the shield around the pto i couldn't see it in your pic so i have no idea... maybe for mounting a track eradicator with the cult?

the 468 should fit anything from a 460 up to 856, so i'd guess your 504 would be included. no idea how many are out there or what your brackets are worth other than worth a lot to someone with a cultivator and nothing to someone without.

Jed,certainly!!!ahhh, my wife said "I don't need to buy any more
project still her house gets finished.period. "Can you post
some more pics, Pleaze?I have a new found love for lp
machines but can only afford cheap internet pictures, still need
to buy parts for mine. What are the upright brackets for on the
front and the cyliders down low on the belly for?Don't kill it
surely someone would love to have it.What. is its story?

(quoted from post at 20:54:10 05/09/13) Thanks for the replies everyone! I'll get more pics of the rear of the tractor.

It had a cotton stripper on it and those where support system brackets for the basket. It is at our place in Texas and i am in Pa. As soon as I can I will get more pics. I would sell it for $1800 as is where is.
