886 ta issues

Our 886 that we just bought has an issue With the ta I've never experienced before. It doesn't matter if the lever is back or ahead the tractor goes the same speed. I checked to make sure the cable is moving and it is. Not sure where to go here. I have dealt with eat ta's before and usually in low they stop. Not the case here. Any help is appreciated

Does it free wheel? If you were going 7mph on flat ground, and throttled down to idle, would the tractor slow down as the engine slows, or would it coast?
Is it in the lower set of speed range, or the higher (direct)?
Does the lever action make any difference in Feel or sound, and can you feel the detent in the lever motion?
Does the Orangish looking oil pressure light work? It operates on MCV pressure and should light when the clutch is pushed in (IIRC), and MCV pressure controls TA clutches.
We kind of need these answers to be accurate on our suggestions. Jim
There are some issues with the TA end of the cable that would be the easiest fix.

Is the cable actually moving the selector valve on mcv all the way in to snap ring on high side and all the way up in low side. The cable often slips in their clamps, either the top one of bottom one.

I had to put a new endon the cable. The end that hooks to the lever. No I do not believe the light works. I am thinking I need to replace the whole console. No lighs come on when you turn the key. I checked all the bulbs and they are ok. I haven't got to sensors yet.
No it doesn't free wheel.
The lever seems to make no difference when moved. I actually think I am in low range. I was planting today and was supposed to be a 6 mph and there was no way in H 1 that I was going that fast. Hope this info helps. It's like it stuck in low.

If it does not freewheel, the cable might not be properly moving the MCV related control. As posted below. I say this because it needs hydraulic pressure to apply the locking (rear) clutch to prevent freewheeling. If it is not going into direct, the control seems most likely. Jim
