Voltage Regulator and wiring

I've got a '44H I'm restoring and it is electrical time. I bought a new (rebuilt) 6V generator from this site and I have a new 6V voltage regulator. My wiring harness instructions indicate that I should be connecting one of the wires to the "gen" tab on the voltage regulator, but my regulator only has three tabs: "F" "Bat" and "L". I've seen other regulators with 4 tabs, but I'm wondering what I should do with mine. Any suggestions???

BAT on VR up to the Load (NOT battery/starter)
side of Ammeter

FLD on VR to Gennys FLD post

(L)OAD on VR sends hot battery voltage up to
loads like Lights and/or Ignition via the BAT
input terminal on the switch

ARM/GEN as Teddy notes is often off on one side
or the bottom all by itself wires to ARM on
Genny

Polarize the Genny BEFORE you start up

Its possible to substitute a 3 for a 4 terminal or a 4 for a 3 terminal VR with only minor wiring modifications
