trying to find parts for steering valve for 1086

I am trying to find parts , namely the rubber seal that goes in the housing of the steering valve on a 1086. IH calls them a hand pump, but claim parts are na. Anyone know where I could get one?

The seals are definetely available at the dealer. Both ends. There are different ones as one rubber seal is longer than other. It has to compress when installed so has to be longer than the old compressed one.

Thanks. Guess I need to find a dealer who will take the time to look. Neither of the dealers in our area are very good at being dealers.

Typical of most dealers now. They only want to sell you a new tractor. Don't want to bother to look up parts for an old tractor and don't know how to fix a new one or an old one.

The rubber sleeve part number is 537274R1 or 537279R1, there are 2 lengths, will probably sub to another, it must be 1/8" longer than the steel sleeve that it goes with, that's the amount of crush to make it seal.
