Gear oil question

Im going to drain the rear end oil in my 1954 super h today does anyone know what kind of oil and how much I need? thanks in advance

80-90 or 85-140 or whatever you prefer is good for letter series tractors, the tractors with mechanical TA require hytran but unless you have one of those "SHTA" mutts you should be fine with heavy gear oil. I know an H takes 6 gallons and I think a Super H is the same.

My Super H took about 7 gallons refill from empty. 80W-90 works fine.

Don't use GL5 spec oil it is not good for brass bushings. GL4 is fine.

No just fine. Articles on the GL5 Problem with copper/brass are pretty convincing. Jim
