The lever is back in, everything good, have all fwd gears and reverse.
The final piece of the puzzle is those little plugs. One was gone, that is what caused the problem.
The other one is a little plug that looks like a contact lens. No "lip" on it like a freeze plug.
The one I have goes in AND out with just the slightest clearance. I am assuming you put it in there convex out and then when it contacts some shoulder inside you then "stretch it tight with a drift punch and a hammer, basically flattening it
Or,, do you buy one larger than the hole and drive it in from the very beginning like a freeze plug?
