cub leaking hyd oil into engine

If the shaft is worn where the seal rides you will need to have a speedy sleeve installed so the new seal can hold the hy fluid in the pump and not leak into the engine oil.
 
Has anyone used a speedy sleeve? I have a bad shaft, but have been told that the sleeves are too thick for this application. What size did you use? Thanks, JD
 
Early pumps used a seal, and you can install the new thinner one shallower to miss the groove. Later ones use an O-ring, and there is not enough clearance for a speedi sleeve. I have found a buffing wheel in a Dremel works great to smooth it up and make the new o-ring work better.
