Farmall m rings

Gents,

Have a Farmall m that I am restoring. 1st question-u have a new set of rings. The ring kit says if it has dots, the they face up, if no dots, bevel up. Mine has painted over dots on one side and a bevel on the other (this is 2nd and 3rd groove). Which way do they go?

2nd question-on the rods, the numbered end faces the cam right?

Dots up. Normally if bevel is on inside of ring it goes up, if on outside it goes down. Instructions can be a crap shoot. Number on rods toward cam.

Dots and bevels are opposite. I'm putting dots up, like directions say. This however makes the bevels down.
