Farmall H PTO Seal Replacement Question

Just a quick question... I have a leaking PTO seal and just wanted to verify that I will need to drain the transmission oil before I try to replace it. I don't want to drain it if I don't have to, but I will vs. making a mess all over the garage

You can also park it with the front down a slope.

For sure!! The front needs to be about 18 inches below the rear. Jim

I changed one on my H this summer doing nothing.
Very little oil ran out as I pulled the cap off and
slapped the new on back on. But I had a new assembly
ready to install. If you had to go to the shop and
press a new seal in the casting it would take longer
and you would lose more oil.
