Different types of plows?

OK, I scoured the internet in the hopes of avoiding this question but my last post pulled a couple of terms that I am just not familiar with and cannot find a good definition of. I have used a small 3 pt mounted plow for many years. I currently have a fast hitch plow and an old JD trailer plow. Although I am sure I have heard the terms used before, but I am not familiar with what "on land" and "in furrow" means when describing a plow. Seems to make a big difference in the size I can use so, just thinking, but I believe I better learn what these mean before I go shopping for something. Can anyone help me out?

"In furrow" is just that.Put the tractor wheel in the furrow."On land" is where the the tractor is up on the unplowed ground, out of the furrow. On land is usually reserved for the larger size plows.

The "on land" version also allows you to run duals on both of the rear tractor wheels. I guess you could also have duals on the front axle if you have a MFWD equipped tractor.
