What's the best way to get them out of the block? I was thinking of taking a hacksaw blade and making a couple of cuts to relieve the stress and knocking them out. I've had it done my a machine shop before but funds are a little tight.

Not saying the saw blade method wont work but i wouldnt recommend the method on engine parts. I personally use a close fitting driver machined from aluminum. I have however used the saw blade method on other bushings.

After the old ones are out, how are you going to put the new ones in. Beg, borrow, steal or rent a cam bearing tool & do it right.
