H distributer drive

Changing out entire engine on my 1950 H. The replacement motor has a casting code of 3*26*W on it so I'm assuming it is a 1951. Had everything on the motor but the carb and distributer and drive housing.

Went to put the distributer drive housing from the 1950 motor on the replacement motor, different bolt pattern. What the...? The 1951 bolt pattern is a little larger than the 1950. This ring a bell with anyone? Am I holding my mouth wrong and just seeing things? Was there a change in this part between the two years? If so, what part number am I looking for as a replacement if someone happens to know?

yes there is a change on the dist drive housing about this time. it is also the period hyd's where coming out. need housing from that year or newer.
on one tractor i just filed the holes in the old housing oblong to match newer block cause i was using original magneto.

Changed bolt patterns in 1950. Serial 344864 and higher has the wider bolt pattern. Find a ignition drive housing with 354948R1 on it.

another option as you have the later cover is to install a live hydraulic pump, it will bolt right up.

Yes that is an option but not money I want to spend on the tractor since we don't yet know if there is something wrong with the back half of the tractor. I just want to fire it up and drive it a little to see if everything is as should be before spending more on it. We only have $425 in her at this point.
