O/T concrete prices?

I need about 2 yards of 4,000 psi concrete delivered for a small slab I am pouring. 1) will they deliver that small of an amount or should I plan on using my small mixer and using bags to mix myself? and 2) What is a typical cost now for a yard of concrete? The last two slabs I did were poured by a friend who is a contractor so I paid retail price for a finished job but this one isn't big enough to justify calling him in. Thanks in advance!

Call your ready mix company.Ask them the 'minimum'yardage, delivery charges, price per yard....You dont need to be a 'contractor' to buy concrete.

Unless you really need the 4,000PSI concrete for structural reasons, it's a lot cheaper to go with 3,000PSI concrete with fiberglass.

Last time I bought it was 5 years ago, at that time under 4 yards was a "short" load, cost more per yard. I don't recall the details now.

In this area it's about 95 a yard now with a 5 yard min. That's for 3000 or 3500 psi, I forget which. Then they add a fuel surcharge for X miles beyond a certain radius. About 2 dollars more for every 500 psi increase in strength.

Last time I bought it was 50 dollars a yard and 3 yard min.

I work for a redi mix co in north central mass and southern nh and vt and our happy homeowner price is around 110 a yd with a small load charge under 6 witch is the norm for this local area
Go with the 4000psi for a few bucks more a yd and I would ask about fiber it worth the price especially for only a few yds allot better product got probably 25 bucks more for 4000 with fiber than 3000 without
If you forms figure for 2 yds order a little more to account for loss in the pour try to put a few pics of my mixa up here on some deliveries

just paid $110/yard for 11 yards of standard concrete in northern MN. If you live close to the ready mix plant they may waive the delivery fee. just give them a call. agree with the fiberglass fiber over 4000 psi if you don't need the extra psi.

Thanks everyone, exactly what I needed to hear! I am replacing part of a shed floor with thicker and higher PSI concrete because I am putting in a hydraulic vehicle lift and the specs on the lift recommend 4000 psi.
