100 Head Gasket Problem

On my rebuilt 100 it looks like there's water oozing out of the head gasket. There's no water in the oil pan. I recall that I never re-torqued the head bolts after running it awhile. Will this fix it or do I need to replace the head gasket? Does it look like water or something else?

On my Super C, it seemed like the new head gasket I installed was somewhat porous, letting coolant ooze out the outer edges of the gasket. I use water with water pump lube rather than anti-freeze and drain it each fall. I used stop-leak for several spring fills. It seems to now have filled the pores and there's no leak even without the stop-leak

Pardon my inexperience, but what is water pump lube? Not sure I've ever heard of that. And i can't remember what kind of gasket I used or gasket sealer. I did this 5 years ago and just now started using the tractor.

Water pump lube is a water soluble oil. Most auto parts places, farm stores and the like carry it. There's Prestone, Zerex and lots of other brands. It lubes the water pump seal and maybe bearing a bit and prolongs the life and I think it's a good idea when not using anti-freeze. Of course I don't use it in thermo-syphon (no water pump) systems. Sometimes I even use it in vehicles along with anti-freeze. I have a Toyota that just turned a quarter of million miles and is still running the original water pump - exhaust system, ball joints, tie rod ends, front axle U-joints and all all four struts & shocks. Couldn't give credit for all that to WP lube, but maybe the WP!

well from what i see here is (1) i'll bet that it was a FelPro head gskt. (2) did you have the head checked for warpage??(3) ya did not retorque. (4) did you use copper coat ?? (5) did you chase the threads on the studs and nuts?? (6) is your torque wrench accurate ??

to the vet: The gasket came with a complete rebuild kit I ordered on this website. Yes the head was checked for warpage at the machine shop. I think I did use a copper coat but I'm not sure. I do not know what "chase the threads on the studs and nuts" means. Please explain since I'm not a mechanic. Is my torque wrench accurate? Probably not. It's an inexpensive model. At the time I didn't have the money to buy a good one. Looks like I need to go to head gasket school.

Center out crisscross pattern, torque in stages ..the "old guy" that taught me always used a abundant coat of aviation cement(the kind that stays sticky) on both sides of the gasket

80 is the number IH raised from 65, I suppose 90 won't hurt, but I am hesitant about going 12.5% over the IH recommendation. I look at the diagram when I do it, but basically you start in the center and work out in a circle -- you need the service manual as that is not 100% correct.
