Farmall 560 questions

I am looking at a 560 diesel WFE (SN 35543) to mount a
Farmland f-11 loader. When I shut the engine off I noticed a
wisp of white smoke at radiator and looking through the grill
found front top of radiator was wet (anti-freeze). It was at top
tank seam but could not tell if came from above. Is this a real
problem or a bottle of Stop Leak?

The loader has a bale grapple. Is the WEE heavy enough to
handleft 5x6 bales?

I"d give the Stop Leak a try.

I don"t know about the loader but I wouldn"t put that much weight on the front end of a 560. I also doubt that the 560"s feeble hydraulics could handle it.

I agree John. The widefront on that tractor would worry me when lifting that much weight but as you say it is doubtful the hydraulics would handle it. With all of that said I"m sure several people are going to chime in with how they do it with their M or 400 all the time. Just because you can find a way to do it doesn"t mean it is a good idea. I see people take way too many risks when handling round bales.

If the wide front has the 6 bolt hubs instead of the early style cast front hubs, I think you will be okay.

The PTO pump that was furnished with those loaders will generate 1,200 psi. I think the 560 is at, or atleast close to that figure, so it should work.

Just for the record, I am currently in the process of setting up an F11 on my M. So far, I have found that the belly pump WILL make the loader go up and down, but doesn't have the pressure needed to be able to pick up anything of significance. Also, the M currently has ONE set of rear wheel weights, and that is not enough.

The hubs may be ok but I wouldn"t trust the wide front. It"s just too flimsy for that sort of load. 5x6"s can run to 2200lb.

The 560"s pump may have the pressure (if it isn"t as worn as they usually are) but it will be s l o w.

Doesn"t look strong enough to me to reliably stand up to 3 or 4 thousand pounds of force in addition to the weight of the tractor bouncing on it, but ok.
