flushing transmission

My tractor is currently about 3 miles from my house. My plan to flush the transmission is to drain the trans where it is put diesel ( or should I use kerosene) in it and drive it 3 miles home. drain, and fill.

Is that a very good plan or is that driving it too far with somehting other than oil??

Thanks

too far to drive with that plan, diesel does not have the lube qualities for the diff, trans or brgs. a short spin around the yard is about it for diesel.used hyd. oil would be a good thing to use if possible as it is thin and will wash things up. even a 50/50 mix of diesel and gear oil. kerosene is better than diesel.
